The Las Vegas Strip Massacre

An analytical reconstruction of the 2017 Route 91 Harvest festival shooting, the unprecedented tactical preparation of Stephen Paddock, and the deadliest mass shooting by a single individual in modern American history.

Stephen Paddock was a 64-year-old retired accountant and high-stakes gambler with no prior criminal record. Investigators noted his methodical behavior, including the systematic transport of 23 firearms into his suite over the course of a week. His psychological state leading up to the event showed a decline in financial and physical health.

22:05 – 22:15 // Tactical Siege: The attack lasted roughly 10 minutes. During this time, Paddock also fired eight rounds at a jet fuel tank at the nearby McCarran International Airport.

23:00 // Resolution: Approximately one hour after the shooting, police breached the suite and discovered the perpetrator deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
